To go through the asymmetry of matter, revaluing its bed of fibres, as one who tracks out, with the pores of the eyes, the silent, quasi-eternal minutiae of its walls and textures, being thus inscribed in a gamut of abysmal sensations, as if an act of witnessing the discoveries of Antares worlds and their unequivocal representations – an inventory of men’s view of the gods’ belongings.

Those are some of the attributes of the artist Sandra Santos’s work, perspectively catapulting us, with her generous obliquity, to registers that send us with delicate touches, to the most sensitive compartments of the skin and the soul, as in a vertiginous trip to the stars, where the certainty of the point gets us near, in awareness, to the elemental righteousness of the universe.

Therefore, through her singular vision, Sandra presents us the pleasure of an attentive look at the slightest phenomena of nature and transports us livid, almost in prayer, to her tender bending over earth, water and stones, akin to one another, from the pebbles on the beaches of São Paulo’s northcoast, to the winding curves of Chapada Diamantina, to Ceará’s caves and their cliffs, and to Noronha’s sanctuaries . An unfamiliar Brazil, that only delicacy of art allows us to capture.
