"The only reality of life is sensation.

The only reality in art is the awareness of sensation."

The words of the poet Fernando Pessoa depict how important it is for the human being to experience the pleasure of sensation, but when we speak about art, we must have a deeper knowledge of the experience of perception, the grace of originality, the eternal source of creative imagination and esthetic, with a constant observation of the world. Those sensations form the artist’s sight, either through abstraction or by the living forces of Nature.

The resultant book of photographs by Sandra reinforces my conviction that nothing can be created in a vacuum, simply because the act of creation needs a portion of humanism, of personality and of everything that surrounds it, which permits the revelation of many realities within reach of imagination.

The artistic merit of her work is based on the way it picks out beauty, not in an equivocal way, but catching the expressiveness the visual arts grant us, with thought and clarity, significant joy, sensibility, and a very wise dose of cleverness.
